During my internship at SRCC Children’s Hospital, I had the opportunity to delve deeply into the field of pediatric psychology, particularly within the EEIP department, which specializes in autism and learning disabilities. I worked closely with over 15 children, observing their symptoms and the psychological interventions employed for conditions such as autism and Down syndrome. Collaborating with experienced psychologists, I contributed to creating behavioral charts and other visual aids designed to enhance each patient’s neurological development. Additionally, I planned and executed physical activities aimed at improving motor skills, based on the advice of medical and psychological experts. This hands-on experience allowed me to develop critical thinking skills and gain practical insights into child psychology and developmental disorders. The internship was a significant learning journey that not only deepened my understanding of psychological practices but also fostered my growth as an empathetic and knowledgeable practitioner in the field of child healthcare.
